Wildcats outlast hot shooting Deapul
The University of Kentucky Wildcats traveled to Maui to play in the EA Sports Maui Invitational this past week for the third time in the programs history. The tournament itself is one of the more prestigous early season basketball tournaments. Lute Olson the head coach of Arizona calls it “the best tournament outside the NCAA tournament itself”. The Wildcats beind big man Randolph Morris and his 20 points outlasted a tough Depaul team in the opening round. Both teams had hot hands, shooting better than 53% from the field. Kentucky could never make Deapul go away though with 1:22 left the Blue Demons went on a 6-0 run to put them within five. But Kentucky hit 5 of 6 free throws with 53 seconds left and sealed the victory.
