Syracuse uniforms put the ‘O’ in orange
I must admit that orange is my least-favorite color. I do make few exceptions: the classic blue and orange look of my favorite baseball team, the Houston Astros and the three school districts I’ve lived in (Colby (Kan.) Independent School District; Alvin (Texas) ISD and my high school (A.C. Jones High School, Beeville, Texas). Otherwise, orange is only good as a color for something that can be easily located if lost. Such as your checkbook. Your favorite pen. Your day planner.
I saw this picture recently of Syracuse Orange quarterback Andrew Robinson getting sacked during a game against the Washington Huskies.

(AP)
Robinson looks like he’s in pain. I can think of two possible reasons:
1. He’s getting his head–I mean his helmet–ripped off, a la guillotine style
2. He’s getting a migraine from those monochrome orange helmets, jerseys and pants he’s wearing and thinking they’re better suited for use during road construction
Here’s what the Orange look like in a better view of their unis:

(The Post-Standard)
They don’t seem to like the uniforms either, do they?
And, of course, when Syracuse head coach Greg Robinson was asked what he thought of the Orange’s orange uniforms, he had THIS response:

(The Post-Standard)
On a more serious note, why did Syracuse ditch the numeral decals on their helmets? I’m an absolute sucker for those and, to this day, still think the Alabama Crimson Tide (though I’m not a ‘Bama fan) has the coolest helmets in college football.

[…] After going 3-0 against the number last week, I’ve been having delirious visions of giving up this 11W thang and starting up one of those 800# gambling advice services. Lord knows it would take far less time and I wouldn’t get exposed nearly as much for not being funny. Jason posted a 2-1 record against the number thanks to Syracuse’s pathetic home effort against Washington. It’s no wonder the ‘Cuse can’t recruit. I wouldn’t put on that uniform if on Fear Factor.
