Tiger Woods Birdies Final Hole to Win Arnold Palmer Invitational
Tiger Woods has entered four tournaments so far in 2008, and has won all four of them.
His latest victory came Sunday in the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill, a course that has eaten Tiger up in recent years. Woods was one of three men at -6 to start the day. As he stepped onto the 18th hole, Woods was tied with Bart Bryant at -9.
He ended up leaving himself a long, winding putt for birdie. With Bart Bryant in the scorers’ room anticipating a playoff, Woods sank the improbable putt, reacting with an effusive hat-toss and fist-pump. Bryant could only chuckle in disbelief at Woods’ final hole 3, which left him in second place by one stroke.
Tiger has now won Arnold Palmer’s tournament five times. He has also win five times at Bay Hill. He has won 5 straight PGA events and 7 in a row overall.
