No More Horry Kow - Cubs Ban Fukudome Inspired Shirt

Vendors outside Wrigley Field will no longer be allowed to sell t-shirts bearing the slogan “Horry Kow” after the Cubs were flooded with emails from angry Orientals and their sympathizers.
The shirts, which were not officially licensed Cubs merchandise, were created to cash in on the hype around Japanese star Kosuke Fukudome, who has been off to a hot start with the Cubbies.
Unfortunately, sticking a pair of Harry Caray glasses on a Cubs cartoon bear logo and printing “Horry Kow” around it struck some as racially iffy.
Harry himself probably would’ve fallen down laughing, perhaps while shrieking something about “those Japs.”
Those who’ve already purchased the shirts, which the seller says he will cease making, can begin putting the sudden collectors’ items up on eBay. And the Cubs organization can pat themselves on the back for their apparent racial sensitivity when we all know they only banned the shirts because their logo was used illegally.

Wow. Thanks for alerting us to this racist tshirt. I am sure the white indeifferent folk who bought it will wear it proudly to their meetings.
And I like how the article writer says: “with emails from angry Orientals and their sympathizers.” It is ASIAN not ORIENTAL. Welcome to the 21st century. Hopefully they know that we try not to put anyone aty the back of the bus anymore either.
