NFL Trade Rumors: Rams Interested in Lito Sheppard
Now that Jared Allen has been dealt, the biggest defensive name coming up in trade rumors is the Eagles’ Lito Sheppard.
Cornerback Sheppard has been mentioned as trade-bait ever since the Eagles signed Asante Samuel to that absurd contract. Numerous teams have been brought up in connection with Sheppard, including the Cowboys (before they landed Pacman) and the Chiefs (who were supposed to have wanted Sheppard and draft picks in exchange for the aforementioned Allen).
The emerging front-runner in the Lito sweepstakes lately has been the Buccaneers, who have reportedly already met with Sheppard. But now a second team has come up…the St. Louis Rams.
Whichever team lands Sheppard will have to cough up two draft picks and give Lito a new contract. A trade may happen on draft day Saturday.
