Former Vikings DE Darrion Scott Charged With Multiple Counts in Child Beating Case
Darrion Scott is officially one of the most evil bastards on the planet…if he actually perpetrated the acts he is accused of.
Scott, who played several years with the Minnesota Vikings before becoming a free agent, has been formally charged with assault and domestic assault by strangulation after being hit with a criminal complaint by the mother of his 2-year-old son. In said complaint, the mother claims she walked in on Scott as he held a dry-cleaning bag over the head of his child and pressed down on the boy’s throat.
Scott allegedly insisted that he was only playing with the boy by holding the plastic bag over his head.
Other horrors outlined in the complaint include an incident where the boy’s mother discovered lumps on the child’s forehead, and Scott claimed the boy was accidentally injured while they were doing a “victory dance” after the child successfully used a toilet by himself. Another incident had the mother discovering marks described as being “consistent with burns or heavy impact injuries” after Scott bathed him.
Police who searched Scott’s Eden Prairie, Minnesota home also discovered a loaded .50 caliber handgun in an unlocked location easily accessible to a young child.
Scott is being held on $100,000 bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday. It’s too bad public flogging isn’t still allowed…
