Charles Barkley Owes Las Vegas Casino $400,000
Charles Barkley says he will pay the $400,000 he owes the Wynn Las Vegas resort casino before having to face criminal charges over the matter.
“My mistake,” Barkley said at a golf tournament. “I’m not broke, and I’m going to take care of it.”
Barkley reportedly received four casino markers worth $100,000 each on Oct. 18 and 19 of last year, and was reluctant to pay them back. Barkley himself claims the debt was not incurred last October but actually had to do with a Super Bowl bet. Either way, he says he will take care of the situation.
Barkley claims this is the first time he’s ever gotten so deeply in debt over his gambling.
“I’ve been gambling 20 years. I’ve never had this happen before,” Barkley said. “It’s my fault I let the time lapse. I screwed up.”
Sorry Chuck, but I don’t believe you…you’re clearly a compulsive gambler, and I bet there are many times you’ve owed someone money and let it slide, and they’ve had to threaten you one way or another.
It’s okay though…you’re a big earner. You’ll be able to make that $400,000 up easily. You can just do speaking engagements. Or you can arm-wrestle Dick Bavetta and charge admission. Or maybe you and Kenny Smith could start a comedy act. The black Abbott and Costello. That would be hilarious.
