About beRecruited.com
beRecruited.com was founded in 2000 by Ryan Spoon - a collegiate swimmer for Duke University in Durham, NC - to make the recruiting process more efficient and more effective for high school athletes and NCAA coaches. First created exclusively for NCAA swimming and diving, beRecruited.com soon gained tremendous support and garnered numerous accolades. Because the service had been so successful, it was a natural transition to expand beRecruited.com into other NCAA “non-revenue” sports; by 2002, our lacrosse section was launched and, in the summer of 2003, beRecruited.com opened itself to athletes and coaches from 16 different sports.
The tremendous success of our expanded service enabled us to pursue a new business model and we began offering FREE accounts to all athletes in April 2005! We’re extremely excited about being able to finally realize our company goal of helping any athlete realize their college athletic and academic aspirations; revolutionizing the recruiting process for every high school athlete and college coach.
