SportsWrap has received 10,000s of visitors coming to marvel at Floyd Mayweather, Sr’s remarkable hair. Not only is Mayweather senial and not only did he watch the De La Hoya vs. Mayweather fight on Oscar’s behalf (!) - he once starred in the 1987 classic movie “The Predator”. Predator grossed $60mm and lead to a far-worse sequel with Danny Glover.
After much request and the obvious Floyd Mayweather, Sr. fan-base - we decided to recast The Predator with sports figures. This is the result:
Character: The Predator, Floyd Mayweather Sr

Character: Dutch, Arnold Schwarzenegger vs. Arnold Schwarzenegger
Dutch was both crafty and might, but Arnold was the 7 time Mr Olympia and the greatest body builder ever. Of course.

Character: Dillon, Carl Weathers vs. Apollo Creed
In real life Carl Weather played for the Oakland Raiders - in a better life, he was champion Apollo Creed

Character: Mac, Bill Duke vs. Vernon Maxwell
Nicknamed Mad Max for his clutch three-pointing shooting and ability to charge the stands with a closed fist. Bill Duke, on the other hand, also starred in Commando and American Gigalo.

Character: Blain, Jesse Venture vs. Terry Bradshaw
Bradshaw continues to infuriate viewers one hour before NFL games and for 15 minutes during halftime.

Character: Billy, Sonny Landham vs. Teddy Bruschi
Bruschi holds the NCAA sack record for a single season (52) and is the proud owner of numerous Super Bowl rings with the Patriots. Sonny is an honorary member of Alpha Sigma Phi, Beta Chi Chapter at American University.

Character: Anna, Elpidia Carrillo vs. Danica Patrick after a car wreck
Danica Patrick wins. No matter what. But Elpidia was in Kingpin…. not the movie, the TV mini-series no one has heard of.

Character: Poncho, Richard Chaves vs. Manu Ginoblli
Manu has won a gold medal, an NBA title, and is playing in the NBA playoffs as we speak. Richard Chaves became the subject of a stalker in the early 1990s - probaby Manu’s work.

Character: Hawkins, Shane Black vs. Howie Long
This one is tough because Howie sits alongside Bradshaw and helps ruin my Sunday mornings… Meanwhile Shane Black has given me joy (at least during the late 1980s). He sold his first screenplay Lethal Weapon released in 1987 for $250,000 and was paid $125,000 as a co-writer of Lethal Weapon 2 released in 1989.

Character: The Helicopter Pilot, Kevin Peter Hall vs. Sugar Ray Leonard
Also very tough - Sugar Ray Leonard is difficult to listen to and, as we learned on the contender, a terrible ‘actor’. Kevin Peter Hall however was not on the Helicopter Pilot - he was the actual predator. During its developmental stages, the Predator was going to be played by Jean-Claude Van Damme, but the producers realized that all of the actors to be physically dominated by the creature were body builders over 6 feet tall. This is when they opted for Hall to create a more ‘realistic’ scenario…. why? He was freaking 7′2! He was frequently cast in monster roles due to his extremely tall stature—he stood 7′ 2½” (2.20 m). His mother stood a top height of 6′2″ and his father stood 6′6″. He also had guest spots on shows like Night Court and Star Trek: The Next Generation.

What do you think? Are there other characters we missed? Better matches? Do tell…
